New Delhi, Jan 23 India Energy Week (IEW) 2026, scheduled from 27–30 January 2026 at the ONGC Advanced Training Institute, Goa, will bring together global energy ministers, industry leaders, policymakers, financial institutions, academia and technology providers at a defining moment for the global energy sector, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri said on Friday.
Addressing the Curtain Raiser Press Conference for IEW 2026, the Minister described the event as the first major international energy platform of the year, focused on strengthening energy security, catalysing investments and advancing practical decarbonisation pathways.
Highlighting the event’s rapid growth since its inception, Shri Puri noted that India Energy Week has expanded significantly year-on-year—from about 30,000 delegates and 316 exhibitors in 2023, to 45,000 participants in 2024 and 68,000 in 2025. IEW 2026 is expected to be the largest edition yet, with over 75,000 delegates, more than 600 exhibitors (including 180 international exhibitors), 500+ global speakers and 120+ conference sessions, reflecting India’s rising leadership in the global energy dialogue.
The Minister informed that 17 Ministers and Deputy Ministers from countries including the UAE, Canada, Netherlands, Oman, Brunei, Myanmar and Tanzania, along with international organisations such as the International Energy Forum, BIMSTEC and the Eurasian Economic Union, have confirmed participation.
The exhibition will be organised across 11 thematic zones hosted by leading public sector undertakings, covering digitalisation and AI, hydrogen, renewable energy, petrochemicals, biofuels, LNG ecosystem, city gas distribution, Make in India and net-zero solutions, with new additions including a Nuclear Energy Zone and a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Zone.
The strategic conference programme will be structured around 10 key themes, featuring four ministerial sessions, 47 leadership and spotlight panel discussions, and five Energy Talks—one-on-one conversations with global energy leaders focusing on technology, markets and sustainability.
Emphasising indigenisation, Shri Puri said a dedicated Make in India and Indigenisation Pavilion, led by Engineers India Limited, will promote collaboration with MSMEs, vendors and start-ups, supporting the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The event will also host 11 country pavilions, including those from Japan, the US, Germany, the UK, Netherlands, Norway, Canada, Russia and China.
IEW 2026 is expected to deliver concrete business outcomes, with several major agreements and MoUs proposed, including collaborations involving ONGC, BPCL, OIL, NRL, BPRL, Shell, Petrobras, TotalEnergies, and international partners. These include a 200 KTPA Sustainable Aviation Fuel project at Paradip, Odisha.
Key side events will include the 9th Prime Minister’s Roundtable, where the Hon’ble Prime Minister will interact with global CEOs and industry leaders, along with multiple bilateral and multilateral energy dialogues with Arab countries, Japan, Iceland, the Netherlands and the United States.
The Minister added that innovation will be a major focus through initiatives such as Avinya 2026 – the Startup Challenge, Vasudha 3.0, and the Hackathon Challenge 2026 involving IITs. Several knowledge products, including a White Paper on Biofuels Financing, a SAF microsite, and the India Bioenergy Outlook 2030, will also be launched.
Hardeep Puri said India Energy Week 2026 underscores India’s commitment to balancing energy security, economic growth and sustainability, while positioning the country as a credible global energy hub and a leading voice in the energy transition.
