Dhruv-NG Signals India’s Engineering Prowess: HAL CMD

New Delhi, Dec 30: India’s civil aviation sector sees an advancement with the Dhruv-NG helicopter, developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). HAL Chairman DK Sunil emphasizes that the Dhruv-NG, with around 65% domestically sourced components, symbolizes India’s engineering competence.

The helicopter, powered by an in-house engine and certified for civil use, is configured for various missions like VIP transport and medical evacuation, with capabilities to fly at altitudes above 4,500 meters.

Currently ready for civilian operations, the first eight units are slated for deployment in offshore services at Bombay High. Safety enhancements include a twin-engine design and improved cockpit controls, ensuring operational efficiency.
