Chennai, Sept 01 Public sector Canara Bank on Monday said its board has approved raising capital to the tune of Rs.947 crore from the central government on preferential basis.
In a regulatory filing in the BSE, the bank said it had received a letter from the central government on infusion of capital.
The bank board at its meeting on Monday considered and approved the proposal of raising additional capital by way of preferential allotment of equity shares to the central government totalling Rs.947 crore.
