Big Infra Push Under PMGSY-IV as Govt Clears 10,000+ km of Roads

New Delhi, Jan 22: More than 10,000 kilometers of road projects have been sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana–IV (PMGSY-IV) for six states in India, aimed at connecting approximately 3,270 isolated habitations.

The initiative, with a total outlay of Rs 70,125 crore, seeks to provide 62,500 kilometers of all-weather roads and related bridges by 2028-29. Since its inception, PMGSY has sanctioned over 825,000 kilometers of rural roads, with a completion rate of nearly 95 percent.

Phase IV specifically targets 25,000 unconnected rural habitations, facilitating access to essential services and fostering rural development.
