Ayush to Be Game-Changer in ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ Vision: Minister

New Delhi, April 17: Prataprao Jadhav said the Ayush sector will play a pivotal role in achieving the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, while inaugurating the “Chintan Shivir 2026” in New Delhi.

The two-day conclave, organised by the Ministry of Ayush, aims to review progress, identify gaps and outline a future-ready roadmap for the sector.

The minister highlighted the growing relevance of traditional medicine systems in addressing lifestyle-related diseases, aligning with India’s global healthcare vision of “Heal in India, Heal by India.” He emphasised that increased budgetary support reflects the government’s focus on strengthening research, education, infrastructure and global outreach.

Jadhav called for a stronger push towards evidence-based research, innovation, digitalisation and inter-ministerial coordination to ensure effective policy implementation at the grassroots level.

At the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the All India Institute of Ayurveda and the General Insurance Council to expand insurance coverage and streamline claims for Ayush treatments.

Officials noted that the initiative will help integrate traditional knowledge with modern healthcare systems, while improving accessibility and adoption of Ayush services across the country.
