New Delhi, April 14: The India-flagged LPG vessel Jag Vikram, which recently crossed the Strait of Hormuz, is expected to arrive at Kandla Port on Tuesday, carrying approximately 20,400 metric tonnes of LPG and 24 seafarers onboard, according to a government statement.
Authorities confirmed that all Indian seafarers in the region are safe, with no incidents involving Indian-flagged vessels reported in the past 24 hours. Monitoring efforts continue through the 24×7 control room operated by the Directorate General of Shipping, which has handled over 6,073 calls and 12,867 emails since activation.
The regulator has also facilitated the repatriation of more than 2,177 Indian seafarers, including 93 in the last 24 hours, reflecting ongoing efforts to ensure crew safety amid regional tensions.
Port operations across India remain stable, with no congestion reported. Western coast ports have processed 3,383 TEUs of West Asia-bound containers, of which 3,228 TEUs have already been cleared for return, indicating smooth logistics management.
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways continues to coordinate closely with the Ministry of External Affairs, Indian missions, and maritime stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted operations and seafarer welfare.
During the period, S. Jaishankar visited the United Arab Emirates, underscoring diplomatic engagement amid evolving regional dynamics.
The government remains in close contact with state authorities and Indian missions across the Gulf and West Asia region, maintaining round-the-clock assistance and issuing regular advisories to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian nationals.
