New Delhi, March 05: India and Finland on Thursday renewed their Memorandum of Understanding on environmental cooperation, reinforcing bilateral collaboration on pollution control, climate action and sustainable resource management.
Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav and his Finnish counterpart Sari Multala formalised the renewal of the 2020 pact in the national capital, expanding cooperation across air and water pollution control, waste management, circular economy, climate mitigation and adaptation, forest monitoring and marine resource conservation.
The renewed framework aims to strengthen knowledge exchange, technology partnerships and joint initiatives, particularly in low-carbon solutions and integrated water resource management.
The development comes alongside broader strategic engagements during the State Visit of Alexander Stubb, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced plans to elevate India-Finland ties into a strategic partnership centred on digitalisation, sustainability and advanced technologies.
