New Delhi, March 1 Escalating tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran have triggered widespread airspace closures across West Asia, disrupting global flight operations.
More than 700 flights have been cancelled worldwide, with hundreds diverted as key transit corridors shut or operate under tight restrictions. Airspace over Iran and Israel remains heavily constrained, while major Gulf hubs such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha have limited traffic, causing network-wide delays.
Indian carriers are among the worst affected. IndiGo cancelled over 350 flights in three days, while Air India and Air India Express have suspended or rerouted Gulf services.
Global airlines, including Emirates and Lufthansa, are adjusting schedules as longer alternative routes increase flight times, fuel burn and operating costs, adding fresh financial pressure on the aviation industry.
