Focus on Counter-Terrorism and Security Cooperation
New Delhi, Feb 27 The 6th India–UK Home Affairs Dialogue was held in New Delhi on Saturday, with both sides reviewing ongoing cooperation and identifying new areas of collaboration in security and law enforcement.
The Indian delegation was led by Dr Rajendra Kumar, Secretary (Border Management), while the UK delegation was headed by Simon Ridley, Second Permanent Secretary at the UK Home Office. Senior officials from both countries also participated in the discussions.
The dialogue focused on strengthening cooperation in counter-terrorism and tackling organised crime, including concerns related to pro-Khalistani extremism and activities of anti-India groups in the UK. Other key areas discussed included drug trafficking, migration, criminal justice coordination, law enforcement cooperation and cybersecurity.
India also raised concerns regarding security breaches involving Indian dignitaries and diplomatic missions in the UK, underscoring the need for robust protective measures.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of engagement and agreed to sustain momentum in enhancing bilateral security cooperation, reaffirming their commitment to closer collaboration under the Home Affairs Dialogue framework.
