New Delhi, Feb 17: In a demonstration of strengthening defence relations, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and Admiral Samuel J Paparo, Commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, visited the Indian Army’s Western Command on February 16, 2023.
Their discussions with Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar revolved around the strategic security dynamics along India’s Western Front, which is crucial for safeguarding its borders, especially with Pakistan.
The American delegation received a detailed briefing on the operational readiness of the Western Command, recent advancements including drone warfare, and the Indian Army’s broader contributions to national stability and community trust.
This visit underscores the advancing defence partnership under frameworks like the ten-year Defence Framework Agreement, highlighting the commitment of both nations to enhance interoperability and address shared security challenges.
