India–EU FTA Unlocks Entire European Market for Indian Exporters, Says FIEO

New Delhi, Jan 27: India’s free trade agreement (FTA) with the EU, along with recent FTAs with the UK and EFTA, opens the entire European market to Indian exporters, as stated by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO).

The agreement covers trade in goods and services, regulatory cooperation, and non-tariff barriers, enhancing trade competitiveness for labor-intensive sectors and MSMEs.

It is projected to increase exports by eliminating tariffs on nearly $33 billion worth of Indian exports, benefiting textiles, automotive, and agricultural sectors, while safeguarding sensitive industries like dairy.

This strategic breakthrough is expected to bolster India’s engagement in global trade and support inclusive growth initiatives.
