Neyveli, Jan 26 NLC India Limited (NLCIL) celebrated the 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervour at Bharathi Stadium, Neyveli.
Chairman and Managing Director Prasanna Kumar Motupalli unfurled the National Flag and took the salute in the presence of Functional Directors, senior officials and employees. Representatives of trade unions, employees’ associations, welfare bodies, educational institutions, students and women employees participated in the celebrations.
The CMD reviewed a march-past by CISF, NLCIL Security, Home Guards, NCC, NSS and students. Earlier, he paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at the Township Administration premises. Shri Samir Swarup, Director (Human Resources), welcomed the gathering.
On the occasion, Shri Motupalli unveiled the logo commemorating 70 years of NLCIL. Nine thematic tableaux, presented for the first time, showcased the company’s diverse operations and initiatives.
In his address, the CMD highlighted 2026 as a landmark year marking NLCIL’s 70th anniversary and outlined key achievements, including commissioning of Unit II of the Ghatampur Thermal Power Project, the 300 MW solar project at Barsingsar, Rajasthan, and a solar project at Neyveli. He also noted record half-yearly operational revenue of over ₹8,000 crore and several national awards received by the company.
The celebrations included felicitation of the senior-most employee, distribution of assistive vehicles to differently-abled persons, and presentation of awards to employees and students. A cultural programme by CISF personnel and schoolchildren marked the conclusion of the event.
