Bhopal, Dec 20: In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, poor households are expressing positive reactions to the introduction of the VB-G RAM G legislation, which replaces the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
The new scheme increases guaranteed employment days from 100 to 125 annually, providing more opportunities for unskilled workers in rural areas. Beneficiaries of the scheme, such as Vandana and Chandu, have voiced their appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, citing that the reforms will ease financial burdens and enhance their livelihoods.
Villagers believe this initiative will foster self-reliance and rectify the issues previously encountered under MGNREGA. This transition marks a significant shift in employment policy aimed at supporting the rural labor force more effectively.
