New Delhi, Dec 12: NTPC Bongaigaon has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to implement a Mobile Science Lab Project in 60 government schools across the districts of Bongaigaon, Chirang, and Kokrajhar, allocating a total CSR budget of ₹57.88 lakh.
The agreement was signed by Riju Dutta from Seva Bharati Purbanchal and Amit Kumar Asthana of NTPC Bongaigaon, with other officials present, including Arnab Maitra, who emphasized the initiative’s role in enhancing science education through experiential, hands-on learning in remote areas.
The Mobile Science Labs will provide access to fully equipped vans with scientific instruments, models, and digital teaching aids, allowing students to engage in practical learning in physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, and renewable energy.
This project focuses on promoting scientific curiosity and enhancing interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines, thereby contributing to the region’s human capital development.
Each lab will feature various learning tools, including microscopes, telescopes, solar kits, and learning equipment like laptops and projectors, alongside trained instructors and resource materials. Implementation will span one year, involving structured monitoring and reporting to ensure adherence to CSR standards.
NTPC Bongaigaon aims to uphold transparency and accountability through regular assessments and site visits while reaffirming its commitment to fostering inclusive, community-forward education aligned with national priorities on scientific innovation.
