Putin: India Remains Key Energy Partner Despite Sanctions

New Delhi, Dec 05: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 5 highlighted the enduring friendship between India and Russia, likening it to a pole star amid global turbulence.

Speaking at the 23rd India-Russia Summit with President Vladimir Putin, Modi praised the relationship, emphasizing its resilience over 80 years and the strategic partnership established 25 years ago.

He expressed gratitude for Putin’s leadership and commitment, noting the joint efforts against terrorism following recent attacks in both nations.

Modi announced new cooperation initiatives, including training Indian seafarers for Arctic missions, which aim to create employment and enhance bilateral ties.

He reiterated India’s call for peace in the Ukraine conflict and underscored the importance of energy security and civil nuclear collaboration as critical elements of the India-Russia partnership. The meeting focused on further strengthening their long-standing relationship through detailed discussions on various regional and global issues.
