Google Introduces Anti-Scam Tools and AI Safety Features for Kids and Elderly Users in India

New Delhi, Nov 21: Google has introduced a comprehensive safety strategy for India, focusing on protecting children, teenagers, and older adults through AI.

Key initiatives include on-device real-time anti-scam tools for Pixel phones, powered by Gemini Nano, which analyze calls without recording data.

The Scam Detection feature is designed to alert users to potential scams from unknown numbers while offering privacy. Additionally, Google expanded the SynthID Detector and released its text watermarking tool as part of its Responsible GenAI Toolkit.

A $2 lakh grant was awarded to CyberPeace Foundation for developing AI-driven cyber-defense tools, along with $1 million allocated to regional research on AI challenges. Google’s approach aims to maintain user trust as India embraces AI.
