Maha Govt Clears Nagpur–Chandrapur Expressway

Mumbai, Oct 02: Maharashtra’s cabinet, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has approved the construction of a 204-km Nagpur-Chandrapur Expressway, estimated to cost Rs 2,353.39 crore, including land acquisition.

The project aims to enhance regional connectivity, and Fadnavis emphasized the importance of creating a development ecosystem around infrastructure projects. He indicated that project timelines must be adhered to prevent financial burdens from delays and called for using the Gatishakti portal for future projects.

The Chief Minister also recommended the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation streamline operations, recruit expert manpower, and utilize modern technology to ensure efficient and transparent project execution. Additional amenities are planned along highways, including toilets and tourism centres.
