New Delhi, March 08: A flagship scheme of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an initiative of the Government of India (GoI) under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) helps to evaluate a person’s existing skill sets, knowledge and experience gained either by formal, non-formal or informal learning and to align the competencies of the unregulated workforce of the country to the standardized National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).

NLC India Limited (NLCIL) in line with the advisory from Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Govt. of India, towards engaging skilled workforce, has conducted Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) training program for the Employees/Contract workman of Mines in association with Skill Council for Mining Sector (SCMS).

For FY: 2023-24 NLCIL has conducted RPL training program in 12 job roles under Mining Sector viz. Mine Welder, Mechanic, Electrician, Rescuer, Belt Conveyor Mechanic and in Specialized Mining Vehicles Operator through which 359 Employees / Contract workmen who have acquired knowledge & skill by experience are formally recognized.

The successful trainees of RPL training program were awarded Skill certificate on 07-03-2024 by SAMIR SWARUP/Director (Human Resources), NLCIL in a function held at Yegneswara Auditorium, Learning & Development Centre, Neyveli.

JASPER ROSE I S/Executive Director/ SME, Con., LTM, Mines, Services & Land, VIVEKANANDAN S/ CGM / Unit Head / Mine-I, RAJMOHAN S/CGM / Unit Head / Mine-IA and SANJEEVI R/GM / Unit Head / Mine-II also graced the occasion. SARAVANABHAVAN A Kr Unit Head/LDC presided over the function.
