New Delhi, Nov 08: NLCIL is a progressive organization with many ambitious plans and the company is planning to invest crores of Rupees on the number of upcoming projects. NLCIL’s new corporate plan is definitely going to contribute significantly to the economic development of the nation.As the financial resources are to be used for the new projects is Public money, Rakesh Kumar, CMD/NLCIL said that the transactions would be done in a transparent manner without compromising Integrity, at the valedictory function of Vigilance Awareness Week 2022 on 05.11.2022 at Yegneswaran Auditorium, Learning & Development Centre, Neyveli, observed by NLCIndia Limited.
In line with the directions of Central Vigilance Commission, NLCIL observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2022 from 31.10.2022 to 06.11.2022 on the theme “Corruption free India for a developed Nation”.
During this week, number of awareness programmes to create awareness on Vigilance among various stake holders such as Employees, Contractors, Vendors, Customers, Students, General public were conducted at various locations of NLC India Limited. Awareness was also created through Social Media, Doordarshan, Company’s Intranet and Company’s Website. During this week, various competitions on the Vigilance Awareness theme were held inviting participation of various stake holders. The participation of the stake holders in the competitions was impressive.
The Valedictory function of the Vigilance Awareness Week was held at Yegneswaran Auditorium, Learning & Development Centre, NLCIL, Neyveli on 05.11.2022.
J. Justin Mohan, IFS, Secretary, National Biodiversity Authority, Chennaiparticipated as the Chief Guest. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NLCIL presided over the function. K Mohan Reddy, Director/Planning & Projects, Suresh Chandra Suman, Director/Mines and L Chandrasekar, IFS, Chief Vigilance Officer NLCIL graced the occasion.
The Senior Executives of NLCIL and representatives of employees participated in the function. L.Chandrasekarmade a Video Presentation on various activities that were carried out during the Vigilance Awareness Week.
The First Prize for the Short Film competition was bagged by MAGHESHWAR K, from Puducherryfor title “KADAMAIYIN PITCHAI” which was also screened during the event. The special edition of Lignite Eyes (e-souvenir) and the Handbook for Disposal Sales Process was released by the chief guest.
Rakesh Kumar, CMD in his Presidential Address appreciated that the initiatives taken by Vigilance Branch which impacted the Stake holders concerned, especially the young minds. He recalled the Independence Day speech of our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi ji, wherein, he mentioned that India should become a developed Nation before 2047, the year which will be celebrated as the centenary year of our Independent Nation. To achieve this mission, India should become a Corruption free Nation and all the citizens should join hands to eradicate corruption. He called upon the employees and all the Stake holders to join him and work honestly and relentlessly to ensure a Corruption free India.
J. Justin Mohan, IFS, the Chief Guest in his valedictory address stated that “Vigilance should support executives and executives should support Vigilance”. He appreciated the efforts of NLCIL in doubling the power generation capacity in the last 6 years (3000 to 6000 MW) and the plans of NLCIL in tripling the power generation capacity in the next 8 years (6000 to 18000 MW).He recalled the title “Sardar” given to the great leader, Sardar Vallabai Patel, the Iron Man of India who unified the Country and stood as an example for Integrity and Honesty in Public Life. He further stated that NLCIL should apply for the India Bio-diversity Award andalso register for ‘Other Effective Area-Based Conservation Measures’ (OECM) scheme.
Earlier, Ashok DattatrayaKeote, CGM/Vigilance proposed the Welcome Address and A.Eraniyan, Chief General Manager/Vigilance proposed the Vote of Thanks.
