Bongaigaon, Oct 03 Karunakar Das today took charge as the Chief General Manager, NTPC Bongaigaon with effect from 3rd October,2022.
A B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from NIT Rourkela, Shri Das has a rich and varied experience in handling key portfolios at NTPC Korba, Unchahar, Talcher Thermal, Talcher Kaniha and Farakka.
He had joined NTPC as an Executive Trainee in the year 1986 and served in various areas which includes Operation and Maintenance, Fuel Handling and Fuel Management of power plant.
Prior to joining NTPC Bongaigaon Karunakar Das was heading NTPC Farakka as Chief General Manager (O&M). As head of the power station will coordinate all activities of NTPC Bongaigaon, Assam generating 750 MW (3×250 MW).
In his illustrious career in NTPC, Karunakar has undergone various training on safety, power plant efficiency, O&M practices, human resources and commercial aspects of NTPC.
