New Delhi, Feb 13: A mass safety awareness program organised by NTPC- Bongaigaon first of its kind at ash dyke to sensitize nearby village residents about ash pond hazards.
A cross functional executive team, CISF and contract workmen addressed more than 200 people including children and made them understand about ash pond hazards and that the area is not meant for any picnic, photoshoot and amusement purpose.
T. Ravinder, GM(O&M), I. Srinivasa Reddy, GM(M) also directed local villagers about the NTPC initiatives towards safety and care of the neighboring people. Rishikesh Roy, VCDC, Chairperson, Dholmara facilitated NTPC and thanked the power station for such an initiative.
Posters are made available at ash pond surroundings on Ash pond hazards and pamphlets are distributed in local language on Ash pond safety awareness points.
