B Roy Director (HR&BD), OIL interacted with the patients

Biswajit Roy, Director (HR&BD), OIL along with Prasanta Borkakoty, ED (HR&A), OIL and Ashok Das, ED(HR&BD), Corporate Office, OIL interacted with the patients from Baghjan relief camps who were admitted in OIL hospital at Duliajan for availing treatment for routine ailments including pregnant cases. 11 patients were admitted out of whom 3 (three) were discharged today.

As part of health awareness program, the Anganwadi workers and helpers organized exercise and yoga sessions for the children in relief camps at Baghjan.

A radio bulletin called BaghjanBarta is broadcasted by All India Radio (AIR), Dibrugarh every day at 7:10 PM and repeat broadcast next day at 7:30 am. This initiative by Oil India Limited to inform the stakeholders about the progress in capping the well at Baghjan#5 and related activities was launched on 13 June 2020. The 5th Episode will be broadcasted today evening at 7:10 pm. The program can also be heard on various social media platforms of AIR, Dibrugarh.

Environmental ImpactAssessment

  • Regular monitoring of Air quality, Water quality, Noise level & presence of Gas (lower explosive limit) is being carried out by OIL at wellsite.
  • Environment Impact Assessment study is in progress by M/s ERM India Pvt. Limited, a NABET accredited consultant to carry out the Environment & Ecological survey within the vicinity of BGN#5 including Dibru-Saikhowa National Park &Maguri–MotapungBeel.
  • Preliminary assessment by TERI team is in progress at site for studying air quality and noise level monitoring aroundBaghjan#05.
  • Preliminary assessment by TERI team is in progress at site carrying out bioremediation of sludge in OIL’s installations using a technology developed in-house by R&D Department ofOIL.
  • Study using seismological technique on tremor report from the neighboring areas is being conducted by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research – North East Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat facilitated by Govt. of Assam. Arrangements are being made for seismologists to come to site with requisite equipment.
  • Preliminary assessment on vegetation impact survey on plants & tea garden was conducted by Assam Agricultural University. They have been further requestedtostartpostfiredamageassessmentstudytoassessthedamage to the Crops/Tree/Plants (Paddy/Tea/Fruit/Vegetation) in surrounding area ofBaghjan.

Preparation for Capping the Well 

  • Assistance from Indian Army: 9 (nine) trucks loaded with materials for Bailey Bridge mobilized from 3 Corps Indian Army, Misamari, Tezpur is in transit. Two more trucks are being loaded and 6 more trucks will be loaded today with remaining materials for the bridge and shall depart forBaghjan.
  • Mobilization of Equipment/Materials from ONGC: Vehicles carrying second load of Equipment/Materials mobilized from ONGC–Rajamundry is in transit. The other two vehicles carrying equipment/materials mobilized from ONGC- Vadodara is also in transit
  • Fire Hydrant Manifold: Fabrication job is in progress at OIL’s Engineering Workshop.
  • Heat Shield: Erection job of heat shield in front of both the CMT pump stations in the well site iscompleted.
  • OIL-CMT Water Pump: Testing of both high-discharge water pumps completed atsite.
  • Development of Debris laydown/Kill Pump Area: Civil work is in progress for development of debris laydown and kill pumparea.
  • Water pump Station at River Bank: Testing of additional water pump at Dangori river bank pump station iscompleted.

Impact on Oil/GasProduction

  • Due to agitation programs, there was production loss of 288 MT of Crude Oil and 0.44 MMSCM of Natural Gas as reported on 16-06-2020. Cumulative production loss since 27th May, 2020 due to bandhs and blockades: 6132 MT Crude oil, 7.97 MMSCM of natural gas.
