Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), on the direction of Ministry of Power (MoP), GoI has conducted State Level Painting Competition on 6th November, 2015 amongst school students from West Bengal on the theme of “Energy Conservation”. The participating students were selected on the basis of first round of painting competition organized in the school itself. The selected students will take part in National Level Painting Competition to be held at New Delhi on 12th December, 2015.
The certificates along with prize money to the winning participants were distributed in colourful function held at DVC Towers. Shri A.Singh, the Education Commissioner, Govt. of West Bengal presided over the function as Chief Guest.
Altogether 1, 32, 221 students from 1,051 schools took part in said painting competition. They were distributed in two categories viz. “A” (4th, 5th & 6th classes) and “B” (7th , 8th & 9th classes). The prize money for 1st , 2nd & 3rd prizes were Rs. 20,000/-, 15,000/- & 10,000/- respectively. There were ten (10) consolation prizes in each category and the prize money was Rs. 2,500/- each. The winner in category “A” was Kumari Chandrila Roy and in category “B” was Kumari Deboshree Mahato, both are girl students.
The entire function was well coordinated by Shri Navin Kumar Prajapati, DVC employee and the designated Nodal Officer nominated by the Ministy of Power.
