Mangaluru, 9th October 2015. MRPL & New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) signed anMoU (Memorandum of Understanding)today to study the feasibility of setting up an LNG Re-gassification Terminal, at Mangalore.
The MOU, signed by H Kumar, MD MRPL & P.C Parida, Chairman, NMPT, this evening at NMPT Conference Hall, facilitates MRPL, to initiate Feasibility &other associated studies, to identify the most suitable location for the facility, and to consider the option ofsetting up LNG Terminal/ Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU)
The LNG Terminal once set up will bring “gas”, cleaner, greener energy, as a fuel option to the entire region, and will be advantageous to industries currenty using naphtha as fuel
Shri Vishnu Agrawal, Director(Finance) MRPL, Shri M Venkatesh, Director(Refinery) MRPL, Shri Suresh P. Shirwadkar, Dy.Chairman, NMPT & other senior Officials from MRPL & NMPT, were also present on the occasion.
