Gurugram, March 5, 2026: RITES Ltd., a leading transport infrastructure consultancy, is progressing with the redevelopment of Kollam Railway Station under the Southern Railway, aligning with Indian Railways’ modernisation agenda.
As part of the project, the newly constructed Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) facility has been commissioned at an investment of ₹28.75 crore. Built over 11,445 sq m with a ground-plus-four-floor configuration, the MLCP provides parking capacity for 228 two-wheelers and 138 four-wheelers.
The facility incorporates advanced fire safety systems, surveillance infrastructure and utility services to enhance operational efficiency and commuter convenience.
RITES is also undertaking platform upgrades, terminal building modernisation, foot overbridge development and external works in a phased manner to ensure uninterrupted train operations.
The redevelopment aims to transform Kollam into an integrated transport hub, reinforcing RITES’ commitment to delivering quality, safety and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
