New Delhi, April 30: RITES Ltd. has been awarded the Assocham Achiever’s Award 2026 under the “Strategically Significant Infrastructure Project” category for its contribution to the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL).
The award was presented by Nitin Gadkari at an ASSOCHAM conference in New Delhi, recognising the company’s role in delivering critical bridge infrastructure in one of India’s most challenging railway projects.
As a key engineering and consultancy partner, RITES undertook alignment design and extensive surveys across the Himalayan terrain, along with the design and proof-checking of 20 major bridges and technical audits of 25 bridges. This included iconic structures such as the Chenab Bridge and Anji Khad Bridge.
The project featured multiple engineering innovations, including India’s first composite continuous railway bridges and the deployment of advanced steel–concrete truss superstructures, long-span girders, and seismic-resilient designs tailored to mountainous conditions.
RITES also implemented Structural Health Monitoring Systems (SHMS) across critical assets, enabling real-time performance tracking and enhancing safety and long-term reliability.
Through its end-to-end involvement spanning engineering, validation, quality assurance, and monitoring, the company has played a pivotal role in ensuring the structural integrity of the USBRL project, which is expected to deliver all-weather connectivity to the Kashmir Valley.
The recognition underscores RITES’ growing leadership in executing complex infrastructure projects, driven by technical innovation and a strong focus on quality and safety.
