New Delhi, Feb 27 REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has handed over Umred Power Transmission Limited, a project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), to Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) following the completion of the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process.
RECPDCL, a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited under the Ministry of Power, acted as the Bid Process Coordinator for the intra-state transmission project in Maharashtra. MSETCL secured the project under the Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model. The implementation timeline is 24 months.
The project scope includes the establishment of a 400/220/132 kV substation at Umred, a 220 kV double-circuit transmission line (~51 km) from Umred (New) to Additional Buttibori (Proposed), and a 132 kV double-circuit line (~38 km) from Kolari (Existing) to Umred (New), along with associated Line-In-Line-Out (LILO) works.
The project is expected to strengthen Maharashtra’s intra-state transmission network and enhance regional grid reliability.
