REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has extended ₹1.25 crore in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support to the District Administration of Kargil, Ladakh, to strengthen education, healthcare and drinking water infrastructure. The initiative is expected to benefit nearly 1.95 lakh residents, while a newly flagged-off 40-seater school bus will improve access to education for students in remote and difficult terrain.

The CSR initiative was formally marked on June 19, 2026, with the flagging off of a new 40-seater school bus in Kargil. The ceremony was led by Jitendra Srivastava, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of REC Limited, along with Prince Dhawan, CEO of RECPDCL, in the presence of senior officials from the Union Territory Administration of Ladakh and the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil.

The newly deployed bus is expected to provide safe, reliable and regular transportation for students living in geographically challenging areas of the district.
