Prior to PM Modi's visit, Ashwini Vaishnaw inspects the railway stations in Bihar

Samastipur, June 07 Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw conducted an unannounced inspection of several railway stations in Bihar on July 7, ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s visit. The tour started in Patna and included stations in Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, and Sonpur.

Accompanied by the General Manager of East Central Railway, the DRM of Sonpur Division, and BJP MP Gopal Thakur, Vaishnaw assessed development projects under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

At Hajipur Junction, he inspected the facilities before visiting Karpurigram station in Samastipur district. After checking Digha Ghat railway station, where he rejected a wooden ladder provided for boarding, he garlanded the statue of Jananayak Karpuri Thakur at Karpurigram and laid foundation stones for station redevelopment and a road underbridge.

Vaishnaw emphasized the importance of these projects, stating, “We have laid the foundation stones for key initiatives.” His visit also included a field inspection of passenger amenities and surrounding areas. In anticipation of his visit, security measures were heightened at all junctions.

This inspection follows his earlier visit on May 23, where he announced a Rs 350 crore development initiative for the historic Jamalpur Rail Factory and laid the foundation for a Rs 78.96 crore project to enhance wagon maintenance capacity.
