PM Modi Condoles Sharad Pawar Over Ajit Pawar’s Demise, Will Attend Cremation

New Delhi, Jan 28 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to Sharad Pawar following the tragic death of his nephew, Ajit Pawar, in a plane crash near Baramati, Maharashtra.

Ajit Pawar, who served as Deputy Chief Minister, was aboard a Learjet 45 that crashed while attempting to land, killing him and four others, including two pilots.

The crash occurred as the crew reported they could not see the runway just before landing. According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the aircraft was cleared to land but failed to confirm this, leading to fatal consequences.

The incident has shocked Maharashtra’s political arena, with leaders mourning what they call a “black day” for the state. Prime Minister Modi, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is expected to attend the funeral in Baramati on Thursday. The aircraft’s final moments revealed the crew’s struggle with visibility before the tragic accident.
