New Delhi, June 07: NLC India Limited observed World Environment Day 2026 on June 5 with a series of environmental awareness and sustainability initiatives across Neyveli, aligning with the global theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.”

The company organized multiple programmes aimed at promoting environmental conservation, climate action, biodiversity protection, water conservation, and sustainable living among employees and the general public.

Mass Tree Plantation Drive at Neyveli Airport

As part of the celebrations, NLC India conducted a large-scale tree plantation programme at the Neyveli Airport premises.

The event was attended by:

  • Rajesh Pratap Singh Sisodia, Director (Planning & Projects) and Director (Power) (Additional Charge)
  • B. Anbuchelvan, Executive Director, Corporate Environmental Cell
  • Senior officials and employees of NLCIL

More than 150 fruit-bearing tree saplings were planted during the drive to enhance green cover, support biodiversity conservation, and contribute to climate change mitigation efforts.

The initiative highlighted the importance of preserving native tree species and strengthening ecological balance.

Tree Plantation at Modern Sewage Treatment Plant

Another plantation programme was conducted at the Modern Sewage Treatment Plant (MSTP) premises in Neyveli.

The event witnessed participation from:

  • Executive Directors
  • Unit Heads
  • Executives
  • Employees

More than 50 native and fruit-bearing saplings were planted as part of the initiative.

The plantation drive aimed to promote environmental sustainability while improving green infrastructure within NLCIL facilities.

Climathon Raises Climate Change Awareness
