NLC India Limited Conducted Beach Cleaning Activity Under The Swachhata Pakhwada 2023 Campaign In Chennai

Chennai, 26^th June 2023: NLC India Limited, a Navratna Government of India Enterpriseconducted beach cleaning activity at Edward’s Elliot Beach, Besant Nagar, Chennai today morning. The initiativewascarriedout under the SwachchataPakhwada 2023 Campaign,observed by NLCILfrom 16th June 2023 to 30th June 2023.Employees from NLCIL regional office, Chennai enthusiastically participated in the initiative and collected litter, debris, plastic waste including other pollutants from the beach sand, segregated and handed over to the Greater Chennai Corporation Solid Waste Management Team.

On this occasion K Prabhu Kishore, Executive Director, PR, NLC India Limited and Dr T G Shrinivasan, Health Education Officer, Greater Chennai Corporation and Nodal Officer,Swachh Bharat Mission, Chennai were present.

The initiative was aimed at inculcating a small sense of contribution towards the welfare of Chennai city as NLCIL believes in giving equal importance to Planet, People and Profit. Also, observance of cleanliness fortnight has started since 2016 and various improvements has been achieved so far. To further emphasize the importance of cleanliness and create cleanliness as a habit, NLCIL comes out with the innovative campaign concepts each year.

This year also we have taken various cleanliness drive across our project offices and corporate office in Neyveli. NLC India Limited has taken various initiatives such as cleaning drives at Workplaces, conducting awareness events at Offices, Schools and carrying out cleanliness drive at outside locations under the SwachataPakhwada 2023 Campaign.
