New Delhi, April 20: Narendra Modi will hold bilateral talks with Lee Jae Myung on Monday in New Delhi, with discussions set to focus on strengthening economic ties and advancing the Special Strategic Partnership between the two nations.
Ahead of the summit, President Lee will pay tribute at Raj Ghat, the memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. The meeting will mark the third in-person interaction between the two leaders, following earlier engagements on the sidelines of the G7 Summit and G20 Summit last year.
The summit is expected to prioritise collaboration across key sectors including shipbuilding, maritime industries, finance, artificial intelligence, and defence. Both sides are also likely to deliberate on strengthening global supply chains and energy security amid disruptions linked to tensions involving the United States and Iran.
Following the talks, Lee will participate in a business roundtable with industry leaders from both countries and attend a state luncheon hosted by Droupadi Murmu.
President Lee, who arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for a three-day state visit, was received by Harsh Malhotra along with First Lady Kim Hea Kyung.
S. Jaishankar also met the visiting leader, highlighting the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation across strategic sectors. The Ministry of External Affairs described the visit as a key milestone in further strengthening ties between the two countries.
Accompanied by a high-level delegation of ministers, officials, and business leaders, Lee’s visit underscores the growing depth of India–South Korea relations, anchored in shared democratic values and expanding economic engagement.
