New Delhi, Sept 18: Maruti Suzuki has reduced car prices by up to Rs 1.29 lakh, passing on the full benefit of decreased GST rates to customers.
The largest reductions are on entry-level models like the Alto K10 (up to Rs 1.07 lakh) and S-Presso (up to Rs 1.29 lakh).
Other models, including hatchbacks like Celerio, Wagon-R, Ignis, and SUVs such as Brezza and Fronx, also see significant price cuts, some exceeding Rs 1 lakh. These reductions are expected to boost demand, particularly in the compact and entry-level segments.
The GST reform simplified tax slabs, with small cars now primarily taxed at 18% and larger vehicles at 40%, while EVs remain at 5%. Other major automakers have also announced similar price reductions.
