India's space startups GalaxEye and Pixxel driving deep tech innovation

New Delhi, Dec 24: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for successfully launching the LVM3-M6 mission, which carried the US spacecraft BlueBird Block-2.

He described this achievement as a “proud stride towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat” and emphasized its significance in showcasing India’s leadership in space technology and enhancing its heavy-lift capabilities in the global commercial launch market.

The LVM3-M6 rocket, taking off from Sriharikota, transported BlueBird 6, a 6,100 kg communication satellite that is the heaviest payload ever launched from India into Low Earth Orbit. This satellite is designed to deliver high-speed 4G and 5G connectivity to standard mobile smartphones.

The mission reflects ongoing efforts in telecommunications technology and is part of a commercial agreement between NewSpace India Ltd and the US-based AST SpaceMobile.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised the launch, highlighting its importance for India’s space sector and reaffirming the nation’s aspirations for self-reliance in technology development.
