New Delhi, Dec 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the advancement of India’s space program, attributing its progress to the nation’s youth. He noted that the Launch Vehicle Mark-3 (LVM3) is enhancing capabilities and promoting self-reliance, which will benefit future generations.
The recent launch of LVM3-M6, carrying the BlueBird 6 communication satellite, signifies a “significant stride” in India’s space sector, marking the heaviest satellite ever launched from Indian soil at 6,100 kg.
This mission not only strengthens India’s heavy-lift capabilities but also enhances its role in the global commercial launch market and supports the initiative for Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The BlueBird Block-2 satellite aims to provide high-speed 4G and 5G connectivity directly to smartphones, representing a major leap in telecommunications technology and marking the sixth operational flight of LVM3.
