New Delhi, Dec 19: Indian Railways has launched the Niryat Cargo Express, an export-focused double-stack container train service from Gurugram to Mundra Port.
This assured transit service, aimed at reducing delays and logistics costs for exporters, will operate weekly with minimal halts for faster delivery of high-value cargo.
Additionally, the government has approved a Rs 25,060 crore Export Promotion Mission to bolster India’s global trade competitiveness, particularly for MSMEs and labor-intensive sectors.
Two sub-schemes, Niryat Protsahan and Niryat Disha, will enhance trade finance access and improve exporters’ market readiness through various supports, while the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters has been expanded to further assist with financial guarantees and export credit tenures.
