New Delhi, May 19: Indian Railways has announced a special summer train service between Bhavnagar Terminus and Shakurbasti to accommodate additional passenger demand during the peak travel season.
Train No. 09257/09258 Bhavnagar Terminus–Shakurbasti–Bhavnagar Terminus Summer Special will operate five trips in each direction between May 29 and June 27, 2026.
Train No. 09257 from Bhavnagar Terminus to Shakurbasti will run every Friday from May 29 to June 26, while Train No. 09258 from Shakurbasti to Bhavnagar Terminus will operate every Saturday from May 30 to June 27.
The special service will comprise AC, sleeper and general class coaches to cater to different passenger categories.
Train No. 09257 will depart Bhavnagar Terminus at 2:20 pm and reach Shakurbasti at 10:55 am the following day. Key stoppages include Botad Junction, Gandhigram, Mahesana Junction, Palanpur Junction, Abu Road, Ajmer Junction, Rewari Junction, Gurgaon and Delhi Cantt.
In the return direction, Train No. 09258 will depart Shakurbasti at 1:15 pm and arrive at Bhavnagar Terminus at 8:50 am the next day, covering the same major stations.
The service will operate via the Sabarmati–Chandkheda Road cord line and is aimed at easing travel congestion during the summer vacation period.
