Indian Railways Clears Rs 871 Crore Infra Upgrade Projects

New Delhi, Feb 13: Indian Railways has approved key projects to enhance rail infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, focusing on improving capacity, efficiency, and connectivity.

The construction of a third line between Aunrihar and Varanasi City (31.36 km) will increase train frequency and freight capacity, reducing congestion and improving services for passengers and local industries.

The doubling of the Ringas–Sikar line (50.06 km) is expected to enhance reliability, facilitate regional economic growth, and improve services for passengers and freight traffic.

Meanwhile, the Ujjain bypass line (8.60 km) will eliminate train reversals, benefiting pilgrimage connectivity and improving operational efficiency especially during peak seasons.

These initiatives demonstrate Indian Railways’ commitment to modernizing transport and promoting sustainable regional development.
