New Delhi, Dec 03: India has established over 5.08 lakh 5G Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs) as part of its mobile network rollout, indicating significant advancements in digital infrastructure.
Union Communication Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia highlighted improvements in rural connectivity through the BharatNet project, with 2.14 lakh Gram Panchayats ready for service and more than 13.66 lakh Fibre-to-the-Home connections installed.
The government is also enhancing mobile connectivity through initiatives like the Digital Bharat Nidhi, focusing on rural areas and aspirational districts, while implementing the 4G Saturation Scheme to ensure coverage for all villages.
In Rajasthan, 1,409 4G mobile towers have been installed under DBN schemes, facilitating access to digital services for remote communities.
