New Delhi, Nov 30: India aims to establish itself as a major global semiconductor power by building its capabilities to be self-reliant in strategic sectors, as stated by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The country is creating a unique semiconductor development ecosystem, supported by institutions that have access to advanced design technologies.

The ChipIN Centre in Bangalore plays a vital role, offering comprehensive semiconductor design workflows, mentorship, and infrastructure to students under the Chips to Start-up (C2S) Programme.

Over the past year, it facilitated the fabrication of 56 designs from various institutions, highlighting India’s emerging leadership in the global semiconductor landscape.
