New Delhi, March 05: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday described Finland as an important Nordic partner and announced expanded collaboration in Arctic and polar research following talks with Alexander Stubb at Hyderabad House.
The two sides agreed to broaden cooperation in education, including teacher training, school partnerships and future-ready learning frameworks.
A comprehensive migration and mobility agreement was also signed to strengthen innovation linkages, research collaboration and startup ecosystems.
Modi said India and Finland are elevating ties into a strategic partnership focused on digitalisation and sustainability, spanning AI, 6G telecom, clean energy, quantum computing, semiconductors, defence, space and critical minerals.
Highlighting growing India-Europe engagement, Modi referenced the recently concluded European Union free trade agreement, noting it would enhance trade, investment and technology flows between India and Finland.
The leaders emphasized that deeper cooperation between democratic partners would support resilient supply chains and trusted technology frameworks amid global geopolitical uncertainty.
