In his address, the Hon’ble Prime Minister commended HPCL for its commitment to innovation and sustainability, emphasizing the plant’s role in promoting clean energy and economic development in the region. He lauded the efforts of all stakeholders involved in bringing the project to fruition and expressed confidence in its significant contribution to the nation’s energy security and environmental conservation efforts.

The HPCL Varanasi LPG Bottling Plant, constructed on approximately 27.63 acres of land, represents a substantial investment by HPCL, amounting to Rs 214.37 crore. Equipped with cutting-edge technology and facilities, the plant is capable of filling cylinders of various capacities, catering to the diverse needs of consumers across Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

The bottling capacity of the plant is around 25000 cylinders per day and it will supply LPG cylinders to more than 20 lakh consumers located in Varanasi, Azamgarh, Mirzapur, Ballia, Mau, Ghazipur, SantRavidas Nagar, Prayagraj, Sonbhadra, Pratapgarh, Ambedkar Nagar, Sultanpur, Kaushambi, Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh and Singrauli, Siddhi and Rewa districts in Madhya Pradesh.

The establishment of this bottling plant will significantly reduce the carbon emissions caused by transportation of LPG cylinders as it will supply LPG to the surrounding districts, where earlier LPG cylinders were brought from distant places by trucks. In the near future, this plant will also be connected to the Gorakhpur-Kandla LPG pipe-line, which will eliminate the need for tank trucks and will enable us to reduce one thousand metric tons of annual carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. The inauguration ceremony was attended by dignitaries, government officials, industry leaders, and members of the local community, who hailed the event as a significant milestone in the journey towards a cleaner and brighter future for all.
