The Valedictory function of the “National HR Conference on Paradigm Shift for Next Gen HR in VUCA World” was held on 02.03.2019.  Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Trichy said that when Artificial Intelligence and Robotics are increasingly being used these days, HR professionals to upgrade their skills and redraw marketing strategies accordingly for facing the new Business scenario.

The NLC India Management and the Neyveli Chapter of National Institute of Personnel Management had joined hands to prepare the Human Resource Managers to face the technological onslaught and changing scenario of modern management.  A two day National HR Conference was held on 01.03.2019 and 02.03.2019. The theme of the conference was – “Paradigm Shift for Next-Gen HR in VUCA world”.

Participating in the valedictory session through video-conferencing, Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD, NLC India Ltd., presided over and said that HR Managers were playing an important role in the evolving business environment and that an organization could develop only through their effective strategies.  He also said that once called Personnel Department, later it was called Industrial Relations Department and now Human Resource Department and would probably be called Strategic Partner and Business Enabler Department in future.

Shri R. Vikraman, Director/HR and Shri Nadella Naga Maheswara Rao, Director/P&P of NLC India Ltd., participated. Shri Prabhakar Chowki, Director/Mines, NLC India Ltd., spoke through Video-conferencing. Earlier, Shri Joe Stephen Dominic, CGM/HR, NLC India Ltd., welcomed the gathering. Shri O.S. Gnanasekaran, CGM/HR/NLC India Ltd., summed up the proceedings of the two day conference.  Shri R. Mohan, CGM/CSR, NLC India Ltd., presented the vote of thanks.

The conference was inaugurated by Shri Sarat Kumar Acharya, Former CMD of NLC India Ltd., Neyveli.  During the course of the conference, professionals from Human Resources Management drawn from all over the country participated and spoke on several topics.   20 emiinent personalities including Shri S.P. Singh, Executive Director (HR) (Retd.)/NTPC, Shri Israel Inbaraj, General Manager/HR/TCS Ltd., Dr. C. Samudhra Rajakumar, Head of Department of Management, Annamalai University, Shri  Stephen C.  Abraham, Ex-Head HR, MRF Limited, Dr. R. Karthikeyan, MD, Gemba Consulting & National President of ISTD spoke on different topics viz., “Future HR Trends – Vision 2025 that will shape the workplace, work and talent in the emerging disruptive world” and “The shifting HR roles of HR specialists in shaping the future fit business organisations,” etc.

On the concluding day of the Conference, 02.03.2019, Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Trichy participated as the Chief Guest. In his address, he advised students of Human Resources Management to take up studies in the fields of Artificial Intelligence as it was inevitable today.
