Modi government is committed to the economic empowerment of farmers

New Delhi, February 24, 2026: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah said the Modi government is committed to farmers’ economic empowerment, highlighting the Union Cabinet’s decision to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of raw jute to ₹5,925 per quintal.

In a post on X, Shah said the move will significantly enhance farmers’ income and benefit jute-growing families, especially in West Bengal, Assam and Bihar, strengthening the rural economy and the jute sector
