Green Asha Brings 15,400 Tonnes LPG; Supply Boost Amid Gulf Tensions

Green Asha Brings 15,400 Tonnes LPG

New Delhi, April 9 India-flagged vessel Green Asha has docked at JNPA, Navi Mumbai, delivering 15,400 tonnes of LPG after crossing the Strait of Hormuz on April 5.

The cargo comes at a crucial time to support domestic cooking gas supplies amid West Asia tensions. The tanker berthed at a liquid terminal operated by BPCL and IOCL.

Another LPG carrier, Green Sanvi, is expected to arrive soon.

With improving conditions, more LNG cargoes are likely, enabling a 5% increase in gas allocation to fertiliser plants—now at ~95% of their average consumption.

Authorities said all Indian seafarers in the region are safe, with no recent incidents. DG Shipping has facilitated the return of over 1,800 seafarers so far.

Port operations across India remain normal, with no congestion reported.
