Dr. Jitendra Singh Highlights India’s Shift to Technology-Led National Growth

New Delhi, March 16: India is entering a new era of technology-led national development, with advanced sectors such as space, nuclear energy, and artificial intelligence (AI) central to strengthening security and economic growth, said Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh.

Speaking at the “Unstoppable Bharat 2026” conference, Singh emphasized that modern warfare is increasingly technology-driven, reducing reliance on traditional combat and raising the importance of strategic technological preparedness.

He highlighted reforms in India’s space sector, which now features a growing ecosystem of private companies and startups. The country’s space economy is projected to expand rapidly as industry, research institutions, and young innovators collaborate.

Dr Singh underlined India’s strong scientific talent pool and government initiatives to foster early-stage innovation, including programs like Vigyan Jyoti, which encourage students—especially girls—to explore careers in research and technology.

He also stressed the role of nuclear energy in supporting critical technologies such as AI and large-scale data centers, ensuring reliable power supply for India’s digital and technological infrastructure.

The minister noted that the National Education Policy’s flexible approach enables students to explore interdisciplinary paths, strengthening the country’s scientific base for future growth.
