CISF detected gold chains weighing about 4.7 kg from International passenger at IGI Airport, Delhi

New Delhi 01.12.2023 : On 01.12.2023 at about 0827 hrs, during pre-embarkation security checks at security hold area, Terminal-3, IGI Airport, while  screening the hand baggages through X-BIS machine CISF personnel noticed suspicious images in a hand baggage. On physical checking of the bag, gold chains weighing 4.7 kg were detected.  

The passenger was  later identified as Akbar Anvarov Avaz Ugli (Uzbekistani) who alongwith co-passenger Sabirov Abdurakhmon Rakhimon Ugli (Uzbekistani) were bound for Tashkent by Uzbekistan Airways flight No. HY-422 (STD-0830 hrs).

On enquiry, both the passengers could not produce supporting documents/bill for carrying such huge quantity of gold chains. The matter was informed to Senior Officers of CISF and Customs Officials. Later, the said passengers along-with detected gold chains were handed over to Customs for further action in the matter.
