New Delhi, March 22: Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited has retained its position as India’s top-ranked power distribution utility for the second consecutive year, securing a score of 92.5 in the latest national assessment.
The company earned an A+ rating among 66 utilities evaluated under the Distribution Utilities Ranking (DUR) and Consumer Service Rating of DISCOMs (CSRD), released by the Ministry of Power in association with REC Limited.
According to the company, the ranking reflects strong performance across key parameters including supply reliability, billing accuracy, and grievance redressal. Managing Director and CEO Kandarp Patel said the achievement underscores operational consistency and customer trust.
Adani Electricity serves over 3 million consumers in Mumbai, with a focus on reliability, transparency, and digitalisation through advanced metering and analytics. Its performance highlights strengths in financial and operational efficiency, resource adequacy, and supply planning.
The latest rankings also point to a broader shift in India’s power distribution sector towards a performance-driven model, marked by improvements in efficiency, financial discipline, and consumer service standards.
Six utilities secured A+ ratings, with no companies falling into the lowest category, indicating sector-wide progress. Other top performers include Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, Noida Power Company Limited, Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited, and Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking.
The mix of private and state-owned utilities among leading performers underscores increasing competitiveness in the sector, driven by governance reforms, execution capabilities, and technology adoption.
