Mumbai, May 25: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) maintained uninterrupted fuel and LPG supplies across the country between May 1 and May 24, 2026, supported by round-the-clock operations, integrated logistics, and technology-enabled monitoring systems.
During the period, HPCL supplied over 24 lakh kilolitres (KL) of petrol and diesel through its nationwide retail network, including 9,32,092 KL of petrol and 15,42,154 KL of high-speed diesel. The company also dispatched 1,60,488 fuel tankers carrying petrol, diesel, and SKO-PDS products to ensure seamless replenishment across markets.
HPCL said rising customer footfall in certain regions was driven by seasonal agricultural activity, increased diesel demand during harvesting, and a shift of consumers from some private and institutional outlets towards retail fuel stations.
Despite heightened demand, the company’s integrated supply chain, including terminals, depots, LPG bottling plants, and frontline teams, ensured uninterrupted energy availability nationwide.
Fuel sales recorded healthy year-on-year growth during the period. Petrol retail sales rose 5 per cent to 736 TMT from 700 TMT a year ago, while diesel sales increased 7 per cent to 1,427 TMT compared to 1,335 TMT in the corresponding period last year.
On the LPG front, HPCL distributed 277 lakh LPG cylinders across the country, reinforcing the scale of its cooking fuel network. The company sold 5,27,928 units of 5 kg free-trade LPG cylinders and 26,145 units of 2 kg cylinders, supporting affordable clean cooking fuel access.
To expand consumer outreach, HPCL organised 2,652 promotional camps for 5 kg cylinders across markets and communities.
The company’s digital infrastructure also enhanced delivery efficiency, with nearly 99.3 per cent of LPG bookings processed online, enabling faster allocation and real-time tracking.
HPCL further strengthened vigilance across its LPG distribution network during the period, conducting 1,174 inspections and initiating action against 48 distributors to ensure transparency and protect consumer interests.
The company said its integrated operations, strong logistics coordination, and continuous field execution remain central to ensuring reliable fuel and LPG supplies for millions of consumers across the country.
